Center for Reproductive Rights
This featured video, shown at the Center for Reproductive Rights’ 2020 Gala, offers a powerful primer on the Center’s mission, global reach, and unwavering values. Set against the backdrop of a pandemic, racial justice uprisings, and rising authoritarianism, it frames optimism not as naivete but as commitment: “For us to get to the future that we want, we have to envision it.” The piece highlights the Center’s victories in courts and legislatures worldwide: protecting abortion access during COVID-19; securing landmark human rights rulings; and defending a clinic in Louisiana from closure. It honors the partnerships, legal expertise, and unshakable belief in human dignity that drive the Center’s work in advancing reproductive rights as fundamental human rights.

GALA 2020 FEATURE
This video centers on the Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the last abortion clinic in Mississippi and the clinic at the heart of the Supreme Court case that overturned Roe v. Wade. It highlights the daily threats, harassment, and systemic obstacles faced by its staff and patients. Through powerful firsthand accounts, clinic workers describe the constant presence of anti-abortion extremists, the emotional toll on women seeking care, and the deep inequities in access caused by poverty and restrictive laws. They underscore the clinic’s compassionate, family-like environment, their commitment to protecting patients and staff, and their determination to keep the doors open despite political and physical dangers. The piece conveys both the urgency of safeguarding reproductive rights and the resilience of those on the front lines.

LAST CLINIC IN MISSISSIPPI
HOPE FOR LOUISIANA
This video profiles Hope Medical Group for Women, one of the last remaining abortion clinics in Louisiana and the clinic at the center of a landmark Supreme Court victory secured by the Center for Reproductive Rights. Staff and community members speak with pride about their work, the compassion they show patients, and the vital role the clinic plays in a region where systemic poverty, racial inequities, and political hostility make accessing abortion nearly impossible for many. Their words convey both the weight of the fight and the joy of serving their community: “People that I sit across from on a daily basis inspire me… what they’re going through inspires me to continue showing up every day.”
